Public and Private Events
The Pardee Home Museum hosts both private and public events. Private events include tea parties, private home tours, and customized events held in our garden spaces—teas, lunches, community gatherings, weddings, receptions, etc. Our public events include a home tours on the second and third Saturdays of each month, and occasional events such as lectures, celebrations and community gatherings. UPCOMING EVENTS
Come Celebrate the Anniversary of California Women Winning the Vote!
Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 1 PM to 4 PM
$25 per person, all proceeds go to the museum.
Announcing a great celebration of California women winning the right to vote. Join the National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA) and Oakland’s Pardee Historic Home Museum in recognizing the 114th anniversary of the triumph of California suffragists winning passage of the pivotal Suffrage Amendment to California’s State Constitution in the 1911 election.
This community event will take place at Oakland’s Pardee Home Museum, 672 11th Street, on October 4th from 1:00 -to 4:00 pm.
The program will feature presentations, light refreshments and a rousing California Women’s Suffrage Campaign Readers’ Theater. Several local volunteers, representing individual suffragists, female and male, will briefly present the dramatic story of the challenges and campaigns women endured from their defeat in 1896 to their victory on October 10, 1911.
As part of the celebration there will be a tour of the Pardee Home Museum, one of California’s architectural and historical treasures. The beauty of the home museum and its gardens is striking. The stunning interior of the house showcases artifacts from throughout the world. Featured in the collection is a classic particularly relevant to this celebration is a unique First Edition of “The History of the Woman Suffrage” distinguished by a special and personal lengthy inscription by Susan B. Anthony, as she lobbied Governor Pardee to support California women’s right to vote. It’s only one thing to savor and enjoy at this special event.
Admission to this California Suffrage Celebration is only $25, supporting the Pardee Historic Home’s hospitality and commemorating NWHA’s impressive work.
